Help 500 Elementary Students in LA and Pasadena: Volunteer as a Literacy Tutor!
QUICK OVERVIEW
Help K-4 Students Build Lifelong Literacy Skills
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
At Reading Partners, we believe that vibrant communities are built when every student has access to quality education and the essential reading skills needed for success—academically, socially, and civically. We're seeking dedicated volunteer tutors (both online and in-person) to work one-on-one with K-4 students throughout the 2024-25 school year.
Reading Partners works with 16 elementary schools across Mid-City LA, Downtown/South LA, and Pasadena. Our mission is to help children become lifelong readers by empowering communities to provide individualized instruction that yields measurable results.
IMPACT
Volunteers with Reading Partners make a lasting, measurable difference in student outcomes.
We work with K-4 students who are 6 months to 2.5 years behind in their grade-level reading skills. Our dedicated volunteers help improve key areas such as alphabet mastery, reading comprehension, fluency, and sight-word recognition. 86% of our students reached their individual reading growth goals by the end of last year.
