Volunteer Management Conference: Creating Influence In Your Organization
Conference Information:
How can a Leader of Volunteers can have management level influence in their organization? This year, at the 10th annual Volunteer Management Hybrid Conference, we'll be answering that question with a variety of experiences shared by peers in volunteer management who have found a way. Each speaker this year has extensive experience in the field and has a great story to tell. This will be a conference you don't want to miss.
While conference workshops will be internationally broadcast to us and presented by AL!VE, Better Impact & Volunteer Management Professionals of Canada, we will be gathering in person with our own local group for discussions and camaraderie in the space.
The live broadcast will be hosted by Rob Jackson, Director of Rob Jackson Consulting Ltd, a consultancy and training company that helps engage and inspire people to bring about change. Rob has almost 30 years experience working in the voluntary and community sector, holding a variety of strategic development and senior management roles that have focused on leading and engaging volunteers.

When we think of having influence, we often refer to the much-used metaphor of having a seat at the table. But for many of us in volunteer engagement we aren’t offered a seat, we have no opportunity to bring our own seat, we need a different table, or there isn’t even a table to start with! But what if we didn’t need the table? What if we crafted our own web of connections that help our influence to grow? What if we were able to see that we already have all the building blocks we need to create impact that leads to positive change? This presentation will explore some key strategies for how to gradually build influence starting exactly where you’re at. We’ll look at ways to safely practice visible and loud acts of advocacy, and some of the more quiet and discreet ways that you can influence others to build on the momentum you generate.
With over 20 years of leadership in volunteer engagement across not-for-profit, health, and government sectors, Australian social worker and Certified Volunteer Administrator Tracey O’Neill champions transformative and ethical volunteer management while fostering advanced leadership in the sector.
