⚙ SPRUCE IT UP: Revitalize TreePeople Park
Help maintain and care for the trails, plants, and grounds at TreePeople Park with L.A. Works.
In partnership with California Climate Action Corps, a program of California Volunteers(Office of the Governor), L.A. Works is on a mission to amplify environmental justice initiatives supporting the communities most impacted by climate change.
Why: By helping to maintain TreePeople's 45-acre park in the Santa Monica Mountains, you are enabling them to focus on grassroots activities such as restoring our local mountain forests and serving under-resourced communities lacking protection from heat and climate impacts.
Who: TreePeople is an environmental nonprofit that unites the power of trees, people, and technology to grow a sustainable future for Los Angeles.
What to Expect: L.A. Works volunteers come out to help maintain TreePeople Park, a 45-acre area that thousands of Los Angeles-area students visit every year to take part in environmental educational programs. Volunteers help maintain trails, remove invasive plants, re-grade slopes, and tend the park grounds.
- Volunteers aged 14-17 must bring and have signed by a parent/guardian a Volunteer Agreement & Release for Minors. Volunteers under 14 may not participate.
- This is a physically demanding project
- This project will occur rain or shine
- Wear shoes and clothes you don't mind getting a little dirty
