Trauma-Informed Care Training to Support Eaton Fire Survivors
Come learn trauma-informed volunteer skills for our fire recovery efforts at this training led by our partner, the Trauma Resource Institute, and supported by us at L.A. Works and our Eaton Fire Collaborative partner, Neighborhood Survants.
Why: One year after the devastating 2025 Eaton Fire, many Altadena and Pasadena community members continue to navigate loss, displacement, and trauma. Rebuilding is only just beginning. As we support these communities through distribution events and the Eaton Fire Collaborative's survivor store, the Trauma Resource Institute's DRM-CRM training will equip both survivor and non-affected volunteers with nervous-system regulation techniques to navigate stressful and traumatic experiences.
Who: The Trauma Resource Institute is a nonprofit organization devoted to cultivating trauma-informed and resiliency-focused individuals and communities throughout the world. Neighborhood Survants is the nonprofit leading the Eaton Fire Collaborative's volunteer efforts. They strive to encourage community to drive positive change and make a difference.
What to Expect: Registrants will attend a free 3-hour DRM-CRM training session! Come learn physical techniques to manage stress, interface with trauma, and real life applications from our staffs' past experience. For the June 10th event, dinner will be provided. For the June 13th event, water and light snacks will be provided.
