Restore a School Garden in East LA
QUICK OVERVIEW
Join our team of Climate Action Heroes to green and beautify the 10,000sq ft grounds of Griffith STEAM Magnet Middle School in East LA! In partnership with California Climate Action Corps, a program of California Volunteers (Office of the Governor) and Eco Urban Gardens, we will help restore a barren and dry landscape into an educational and edible garden for students and a regenerative habitat for pollinators!
MISSION
Eco Urban Gardens is a nonprofit organization that builds healthy and sustainable communities by combating food insecurity through urban agriculture and regenerative living.
IMPACT
Your volunteer efforts will help restore the green space which will benefit the students, pollinators, and the larger community. Thanks to your work, students will be able to learn about the importance and benefits of biodiversity and how to steward the ecosystem. The students will sell their harvest at the local Farmers Market, providing their community access to fresh, organic produce.
