Earth With Us: The Great LA River CleanUp 2023
QUICK OVERVIEW
Friends of the LA River is excited to announce the return of our 33rd Annual Great LA River CleanUp, taking place on Saturday, April 15th, and Saturday, April 22nd!
IMPACT
At the Great LA River CleanUp of 2022, 1,700 volunteers removed over 50,000 pounds of trash from the Los Angeles River. In 2023, FoLAR has the capacity to host up to 2,500 volunteers at Earth With Us, and we have expanded our volunteer opportunities to better connect Angelenos with the River and its tributaries. Earth With Us will not only mobilize Angelenos to clean up the Los Angeles River, but it will also create long-term advocates and River stewards for the future.
VOLUNTEER ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Across two Saturdays, volunteers can join us for CleanUps, Habitat Restoration, Nature Walks, and River education activities at different FoLAR sites across 51 miles of the LA River – from the Upper River to the Middle River, and to the Lower River!
REQUIREMENTS
- All volunteers must wear close-toed shoes that they don't mind getting dirty!
- FoLAR encourages participants to bring snacks, and water bottles.
- Participants under the age of 18 must have a parent/guardian signature signed waiver, and adult supervision is required at all times for children under the age of 13.
