Build a Butterfly Garden with BlueSky LA
QUICK OVERVIEW
Join Bluesky LA in building a pollinator-friendly native plant garden at Montara Avenue Elementary! Bluesky LA is an ongoing initiative to build community engagement to support and implement projects big and small, from tree planting, urban gardens, compost hubs, and other strategies in communities that experience the worst air quality.
MISSION OR ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW
Blue Sky LA is a partnership between two non-profit organizations, Climate Cents, and Breathe Southern California, to fund local monthly volunteer projects that will drastically improve the air quality of the Los Angeles region.
IMPACT
Volunteers will help create green spaces where students can interact with each other and their local ecosystem and learn to steward their environment. This native plant garden space will serve as a habitat for pollinators and sequester carbon and improve air quality.
VOLUNTEER ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Volunteers will get their hand's dirty digging, adding mulch, and planting native plants.

Wear closed-toe shoes, and bring water and sun protection!
Minors under 14 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. All volunteers must sign liability forms and minors must have parental/guardian consent to participate in the activity. Please wear closed-toed shoes and a hat.
