Share Your Job Experience with Young Adults in the Elevate Program (Part III)
*All Workshops will be on Zoom
OVERVIEW:
L.A. Works is recruiting volunteers to support young adults (17 to 24) who have been accepted into the Elevate Program. From underserved communities in Los Angeles, these young adults applied based on a strong desire to improve their lives through better employment and potential career tracks. Each accepted applicant receives training and employment placement leading up to the workshops. Then, our workshop curriculum and volunteers, like yourself, will give applicants new career skills they can use and apply the next work day at their new job. Your hour or two spent in these workshops could pay dividends in our community for generations to come!
This project is part of L.A. Works' Workforce Development initiative, which strives to support underserved Angelenos who need genuine help and guidance with career and job skills. We’re here to help young adults who have not yet found guidance regarding their potential, career opportunities, and future. If you had someone help you with these questions or remember how you found the answers on your own, we could use an hour or more of your time to pass that knowledge on to others!
THE ELEVATE PROGRAM MISSION:
The Elevate Program combines our workshop series with job placement services to better equip young adult applicants (ages 17 to 24) with new job skills and the opportunity to use them in a practical setting. Our applicants came to the program from low-income households and underserved communities in Los Angeles. It is our mission that these workshops help these young adults keep their employment and advance in the future. This is the support and guidance so many young adults struggle to find, and each of your volunteer hours can make all the difference in the success of our mission.
