Take Action on MLK Day

Take action to support our Beloved Community and honor Dr. King’s legacy by joining thousands of Angelenos in service and celebration at the MLK Day Volunteer Festival.

WHY: The MLK Day 2024 Volunteer Festival is a great opportunity for individuals, families, groups, and friends looking to honor the national holiday! Service empowers individuals, strengthens communities, bridges barriers, creates solutions, and moves us closer to Dr. King’s vision of a beloved community.
WHO: L.A. Works strives to unite Angelenos and inspire action for a more equitable Los Angeles.
WHAT TO EXPECT: From 12pm – 4pm, participants at the festival can move freely through the event to:

• Volunteer to address critical issues of food insecurity, homelessness, education equity, and economic opportunity;
• Learn about ways to support and advocate for the community year-round;
• Hear from special speakers;
• Enjoy food for purchase; and
• Much, much more!

• Impact Zones to create blankets, book bundles, job readiness notebooks, food packets, and more to be distributed to nonprofit partners serving vulnerable Angelenos primarily in South LA;
• Intergenerational Volunteer Zone for family friendly volunteer activities;
• MLK Legacy Project to create installations for schools and nonprofits across LA;
• Minecraft March on Washington video game truck to “meet” and learn about activists from the 1963 march to today; and the
• Sponsor VIP Zone for activities specially designed and led for sponsoring companies.
