Mudtown Farms Community Impact Days
Help restore our garden space in Watts!
Why:
Celebrate Earth Day by helping to restore garden space in Watts. In partnership with California Climate Action Corps, a program of California Volunteers (Office of the Governor), L.A. Works is on a mission to amplify the environmental justice initiatives of its partners in supporting the communities most impacted by climate change.
MISSION
Mudtown Farms (MTF) is a 2.5-acre urban farm in the community of Watts. Our mission is to educate our community, from our youth to our elders, on making healthy food and lifestyle choices. Our growing grounds are here to help families engage in year-round outdoor activities that will open the door to conversations about the fundamentals of growing food from soil to the table. By choosing to make healthier food choices we can begin to help relieve our dependence on synthetic medications. Education is the foundation to begin the healing process from the years of being fed misinformation. MTF has begun building healthy soil that will supply our city with organic growing grounds for year-round food production for generations to come. Ultimately, we are here to help feed, educate, and heal our city one mind, one table, one heart at a time!
IMPACT
As always, MudTown Farms (MTF) provides an enriching volunteer experience for groups and individuals that offers people the opportunity to see the work MTF is doing here in Watts. Through active participation in urban farming, we guarantee our impact days will make a lasting positive change in our community.
