Nonprofit Event Planner

Design meaningful events, foster community connections, and make a direct impact on neurodivergent children and their families!

Why: Events are the heartbeat of 5-Eleven Hoops, bringing together families, community members, and supporters to celebrate inclusivity and growth. As an Event Planner, you’ll play a vital role in creating experiences that uplift neurodivergent children and strengthen their support networks.

Who: 5-Eleven Hoops is unlocking the strengths and full potential of kids with Autism through sports in supportive and inclusive spaces.

• Plan, organize, and execute community events, fundraisers, and special activities hosted by 5-Eleven Hoops.
• Coordinate logistics such as venue selection, vendor management, volunteer assignments, and event scheduling.
• Develop detailed event timelines and promotional materials in collaboration with staff.
• Ensure smooth execution by collaborating with volunteers and community partners to manage all event details.
• Provide on-site support during events, including check-in, guest assistance, supply management, and last-minute problem-solving.
• Share ideas for future events, helping to create an engaging and memorable atmosphere for participants.

• Strong organizational and communication skills, with attention to detail.
• A passion for supporting neurodivergent children and fostering inclusive communities.
• Ability to collaborate with staff, volunteers, and vendors in a team-oriented environment.
• Flexibility and problem-solving skills to address challenges during event planning or execution.
• Previous event planning experience is a bonus but not required.
• Capability to handle multiple tasks, work under deadlines, and contribute creative ideas for engaging events.
• A proactive attitude and commitment to the mission of 5-Eleven Hoops.
• Time Commitment:
  • Flexible hours based on event schedules and planning needs.
  • Event days may range from a few hours to a full day, depending on the scale of the event.
  • Pre-event planning may require several hours per week leading up to the event.
  • Volunteers can collaborate with the team to determine dates and times that align with their availability.
