Join us in supporting individuals and families impacted by the recent fires that have affected many of the homeless shelters we operate.

Why: Your time and effort will make an immediate and tangible difference in helping individuals and families recover from this crisis. By ensuring that donations are sorted and ready for distribution, you’ll be providing vital support to our community during this challenging time.

Who: L.A. Family Housing (LAFH) works to help families transition out of homelessness and poverty through a continuum of housing enriched with supportive services.

What to Expect: As part of our emergency response efforts, we need volunteers to help sort, organize, and prepare essential donations for distribution to those in need. Your efforts will ensure that clothing, hygiene products, and other critical supplies are ready to be delivered to shelters and directly to impacted individuals.

• Light to moderate physical activity, including standing, lifting, and organizing items.
• Onsite staff guidance to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
• A chance to directly contribute to supporting individuals recovering from the fires.
• Sort incoming donations, including clothing, toiletries, and household supplies.
• Organize items into categories and prepare them for easy distribution.
• Assist with quality checks to ensure items are in good condition.
• Help pack emergency kits for immediate delivery to shelters and affected families.

What’s Required: 

• Must be at least 14 years old. All minors must be accompanied by an adult.
• Comfortable lifting up to 10 pounds and working on your feet for extended periods.
• Closed-toe shoes are required for safety.
• Ability to volunteer in person in North Hollywood.
