Share Your Job Experience with Young Adults in the Elevate Program (Part II)
Why: Sharing your experience with the next generation of job seekers will help shrink the skills gap that has widened due to education inequity. You can make a significant impact on young professionals who have not had a chance to ask for advice from experienced professionals before. Your hour or two spent in these workshops could pay dividends in our community for generations to come!
Who: L.A. Works mobilizes volunteers to tackle critical issues in the Los Angeles area. This project is part of L.A. Works' Workforce Development initiative, which strives to support underserved Angelenos who need genuine help and guidance with career and job skills. We’re here to help young adults who have not yet found guidance regarding their potential, career opportunities, and future. If you had someone help you with these questions or remember how you found the answers on your own, we could use an hour or more of your time to pass that knowledge on to others!
What to Expect: Each accepted applicant receives training and employment placement leading up to the workshops. Then, our workshop curriculum and volunteers, like yourself, will give applicants new career skills they can use and apply the next work day at their new job.- Sign up below for the date or dates that you could help with.
