Beautify A Community Garden at Arroyo Farm Lab for Earth Week
Volunteer with Eco Urban Gardens for part 2 of a hands-on beautification project for Earth Week. No gardening experience required!
Why: Our volunteer day efforts help establish urban agricultural learning hubs in underserved communities. The learning hubs aim to introduce youth and the community to urban agriculture, environmental sciences, and nutrition to improve physical and mental wellness. Volunteers are welcome to not only participate in the efforts but also partake in workshops and events.
Who: Eco Urban Gardens aims to combat food insecurity through urban agriculture and regenerative living.
What to Expect: This event continues work done on Earth Day and focuses on mulching and planting to beautify our learning hub. Volunteers will help the Arroyo Farm Lab with tasks like:
- Mulching
- Transplanting Seedings
- Mural Making
- Signage Painting
- Cleaning (Raking, debris pick-up, etc)
What's Required: For a safe and more comfortable work experience, we ask volunteers to bring the following:
- Closed/Comfortable shoes (suitable for yardwork)
- Water Bottle
- Long Pants/Long Sleeves
- Small Snack
- Volunteers under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
