Volunteering at Fountain Community Gardens Earth Day Celebration

Join Fountain Community Gardens to help out with their Earth Day Celebration. They are looking for volunteers to help prepare the garden, set up for the event, and assist with cleanup.

Why: By volunteering at our Earth Day Celebration, you’ll help create a welcoming, vibrant space where community members can connect with nature, learn about sustainability, and celebrate together. Your support ensures that families, gardeners, and neighbors can continue to enjoy a thriving green space in the heart of the city while promoting environmental awareness and education.

Who: Fountain Community Gardens aims to produce a flourishing, well-managed garden where members can be themselves and feel a sense of community while providing a growing space for vegetables and flowers

• Volunteers will asssist with garden clean-up, setup, and breakdown. 
• Other tasks include things such as weeding, spreading mulch, setting up tables and chairs, organizing activty stations, and arranging plants for giveaways.
• Expect a fun, commnunity-driven atmosphere with plenty of opportunities to meet fellow volunteers and staff. 
• Snacks and refreshments will be provided & volunteers will receive a small token of appreciation for their help. 

• Volunteers should be able to commit to at least one shift during the event preparation or on the day of the celebration.
• ​No specialized skills are required, but tasks may involve light lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. 
• Please wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and closed-toe shoes for safety. 
• Gloves, tools, and supplies will be provided, but feel free to bring your own if preferred.
• We recommend bringing a hat, sunscreen, and a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated.
• Volunteers helping with plant setup should be comfortable handling small plants and soil.
• Additionally, we are looking for volunteers to take photos and videos during both the event preparation and the celebration itself. If you have experience with photography or videography, or just enjoy capturing special moments, we’d love your help in documenting this community event!
