Fave April 2025: Beautify the Patriot House on the VA Campus
Join L.A. works to help beautify the VA Campus by removing old garden rocks from Patriot House garden and prepping the area for beautiful plants, improving the campus for our veterans.
Why: Veterans receiving care at the VA can stay at the Patriot House. One way to show appreciation to our veterans is to help transform the garden entrance area by removing old garden stones to make way for lush, fresh plantings.
Who: L.A. Works is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, volunteer action center that creates and implements hands-on community service projects throughout the greater Los Angeles area.
What to Expect:
- Remove garden stones from the entrance garden to be re-purposed in other areas around the campus.
- Prepare the ground for new planting.
- Help transport the rocks to a designated area.
- Help with some touch up paint near the entrance area if time allows.
- Family volunteer activity is suitable for all ages.
- We will be outdoors so please dress appropriately, wear a hat, apply sunscreen, and bring a refillable water bottle. Volunteers will get dirty!
What’s Required:
- Check-in and instructions given on site.
- This is a FAVE family volunteering event. All volunteers must be family volunteers and minor volunteers must be accompanied by an adult.
- Physically fit enough to transport large amounts of small stones.

Minor waiver (emailed to you after registration) must be completed for volunteers under the age of 18.

VA waiver (emailed to you after registration) must be completed by ALL volunteers.
