Shine LA - Beautify a Garden in Imperial Courts

Why: Join the Office of Mayor Karen Bass, community partners, and volunteers from across the city for Service Day LA: Together, LA Shines — a citywide day of service dedicated to cleaning and greening our neighborhoods in honor of Earth Day! Volunteer alongside Mayor Bass and your neighbors to help make Los Angeles shine, preparing our city for the world stage. Take pride in your neighborhood and be part of the movement to make LA its best!
Who: Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, Councilmember Tim McOsker and Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles are the hosts for this Shine LA community service day event.
What to Expect: Volunteers will take part in clean-up and beautification efforts, including garden enhancements and vegetation abatement.
- Expect a vibrant, community-driven atmosphere with plenty of opportunities to connect with fellow volunteers and staff while making a meaningful impact on our neighborhood!
- Time/shift commitment: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
- Physical demands: Ability to be in the sun for several hours.
- Dress code: We recommend that volunteers wear long-sleeved shirts, long, loose pants, and sturdy, close-toed walking shoes. Hats and sunglasses recommended.
- Safety protocols: Make sure to bring a filled water bottle and sun protection (sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, etc
- Volunteers are requested to bring 2 gallons of water for plants each
- Your most I Love LA attitude
