Help Fire-Survivors "Shop" A Distribution Center
You can support families and individuals impacted by the recent fires in Los Angeles County at a NEW Distribution Relief Center, providing essential items like clothing, shoes, non-perishable goods, children's toys, and more—at no cost to fire-affected individuals.
Why: Volunteers will support individuals and families impacted by the fires by making sure the store is stocked with items and by assisting shoppers so that they can move forward with things that they need.
Who: National Council of Jewish Women Los Angeles (NCJW|LA) is a grassroots organization of volunteers and advocates who turn progressive ideals into action. Inspired by Jewish values, NCJW strives for social justice by improving the quality of life for women, children, and families and by safeguarding individual rights and freedoms.
What to Expect:- We are seeking volunteers to assist in the Distribution Relief Center during our operating hours.
- Volunteers will help with tasks like hanging and restocking clothing, assisting participants, and supporting the store manager as needed.
- Shifts are available: Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays, March 8th - April 7th, Various timeslots available
- Friendly, empathetic volunteers who can provide welcoming hospitality
- Volunteers who can maintain confidentiality about individuals visiting the store.
- Individuals over 18
- NCJW is encouraging community centers, temples, churches and other groups to assemble teams for shifts. We can accommodate up to 8 volunteers at a time.
