Shine LA - Hollenbeck Park Community Clean Up
By volunteering for the Shine LA community service day event, you’ll help make Los Angeles shine!
Why: In honor of Earth Month, join the Office of Mayor Karen Bass, community partners, and volunteers from across the city for Service Day LA: Together, LA Shines — a citywide day of service dedicated to cleaning and greening our neighborhoods in honor of Earth Day. Volunteer alongside Mayor Bass, Councilmember Ysabel Jurado, and your neighbors to prepare our city for the world stage, take pride in your neighborhood, and be part of the movement to make LA its best!
Who: Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, Councilmember Ysabel Jurado, State Senator Maria Elena Durazo, Assemblymember Mark Gonzalez, Hollenbeck Park Advisory Board, and volunteers like you.
What to Expect:- The Hollenbeck Park Advisory Board, in collaboration with Councilmember Ysabel Jurado’s office, is rallying the community to help beautify one of Los Angeles’ historic parks.
- Join over 200 volunteers from local high schools and community organizations for a day of cleaning and revitalizing Hollenbeck Park.
- After the cleanup, participants can enjoy delicious tacos provided by La Parilla.
- The event will also feature a resource fair with valuable community services and information.

Time/shift commitment: 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM.

Physical demands: Ability to be in the sun for several hours.

Dress code: We recommend that volunteers wear long-sleeved shirts, long, loose pants, and sturdy, close-toed walking shoes. Hats and sunglasses recommended.

Safety protocols: Make sure to bring a filled water bottle and sun protection (sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, etc).

Volunteers are requested to bring 2 gallons of water for plants each.
