Art Class Assistant

Volunteer with the Braille Institute to help blind and visually impaired students create projects in one of our popular art classes. 

Why: Help the blind and visually impaired community embrace the challenge of sight loss by helping students express themselves through various modes of artistry, (e.g. ceramics, mosaic, print making, basket weaving).

Who: Braille Institute is committed to eliminating blindness and severe sight loss as barriers to a fulfilling life. Through educational training, programs, and services, we help tens of thousands of people each year regain and maintain their independence.

• Prepare classroom for students
• Upkeep tools and art supplies (e.g. clean, store, and organize)
• Greet and assist students as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned. Duties or tasks may change

• Energetic and excited about art (experience is not required, training will be provided)
• Have a passion for sharing with others
• No experience working with the blind and vision community is necessary
• Comfortable working with art students of different ages and skill levels
• Create a safe and supportive learning environment for students
