Warehouse Opportunity: Help Families Get New Furniture
Join our dedicated team of volunteers supporting individuals and families affected by the recent wildfire in Altadena!
Why: Every care package assembled, every couch delivered, and every shelf organized helps bring comfort and stability to a family facing uncertainty.
Who: Reach Out WorldWide aims to rapidly deploy volunteers and resources to assist in disaster relief efforts, focusing on medical aid, post-disaster cleanup, and rebuilding communities, with the goal of reaching as many people as possible.
What to Expect:
- Assembling Care & Career Packages: Help put together packages with household essentials, hygiene items, job search tools, and other supplies for families starting over.
- Furniture Delivery to Warehouse and Distribution: Assist in receiving furniture to the warehouse as well as organizing and distributing donated furniture to those moving into new homes.
- Inventory Management: Help track and organize incoming donations to keep our warehouse running smoothly.
- Warehouse Support: Aid in unloading, sorting, and prepping items for delivery or pickup
What's Required:
- Volunteers should be available for a minimum of 3-4 hours per shift, though longer shifts are welcome.
- Flexible shifts available weekdays and weekends, based on volunteer availability and the specific task at hand (e.g., furniture delivery days may ask a longer commitment).
- Volunteers should be comfortable lifting and moving light to moderate weight (especially for roles involving furniture distribution).
- Tasks may include standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
- Ensure that you're able to perform physical activities in a warehouse or outdoor setting.
