All Hands and Hearts is seeking volunteers to assist with wildfire relief effort
Volunteer with All Hands and Hearts to assist local communitites who have been impacted by the recent wildfires.
Why: Our efforts are currently focused on smoke remediation for impacted homes, supporting local partners in donation distribution and building community capacity through training and collaboration. By working alongside trusted local organizations, we aim to ensure a coordinated, community-led recovery that lasts well beyond our time on the ground. We have committed to be in Los Angeles through August 29th, 2025.
Who: All Hands and Hearts provides community-inspired, volunteer-powered disaster relief.
What to Expect:
- Smoke Remediation: Volunteers will engage in a cleaning process to remove harmful contaminants where smoke and ash have settled in homes surrounding the burn zone
- Distribution Centers: Volunteers will create kits, sort and organize donations, and assist in distribution directly to community members
What's Required:
- Work clothes: Closed toed shoes. We’ll provide you with our purple All Hands and Hearts work shirt.
- Water bottle: Please bring a refillable bottle. Staying hydrated is important!
- Packed lunch: Bring along some sandwiches and snacks - you’ll need to fuel your energy throughout the day!
- Flexibility, patience, and a sense of humor! In the early days of a response, the situation is incredibly dynamic, plans are often forced to change at the last minute. We appreciate patience and flexibility, and don’t forget that sense of humor.
- Safety Precautions: Volunteers will have head-to-toe coverage in a disposable coverall suit, goggles, respirator, hard hat and gloves, taped to the cuff of the suit.
