TechArts General Volunteer
TechArts Empowerment Foundation is seeking enthusiastic and detail-oriented volunteers to join our Welcome & Check-In Crew—a vital part of our Mobile STEM Academy experience!
Why: At TechArts, we believe learning should be fun, accessible, and empowering. As part of the Welcome & Check-In Crew, you’re helping to set the tone for an unforgettable experience. You’ll play a key role in creating a safe, friendly, and well-organized environment where young people feel welcomed, supported, and ready to shine.
Who: TechArts Empowerment Foundation exists to bridge the digital divide by offering engaging, fun, and educational programs that cultivate creativity and proficiency in technology and the arts.
What to Expect:- Set-up and Teardown
- Help setting up the training room
- Help tearing down the training room
- Student Welcome & Check-In:
- Greet students and families upon arrival with a warm, positive attitude.
- Check students in using a roster or digital check-in system.
- Help manage the flow of foot traffic and maintain an organized registration area.
- Equipment Distribution & Tracking:
- Issue laptops, robots, and other tech materials to students.
- Ensure each piece of equipment is logged and associated with the correct student.
- Assist with collecting parent/guardian signatures on asset agreement forms.
- Lunch Service Support:
- Help serve lunch to students and staff.
- Monitor food stations and assist with cleanup afterward.
- Friendly and professional demeanor with a passion for supporting youth and education.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Basic tech comfort (e.g., using a phone or tablet for photos/check-ins).
- Must be punctual, reliable, and able to follow instructions.
- Ability to work on your feet and multitask during busy check-in periods.
