Elephant Guardian - The Great Elephant Migration
The herd is coming to Los Angeles, California July 1st - August 1st for their final stop in their year-long migratory journey! The Great Elephant Migration team is looking for passionate and reliable community members to act as Elephant Guardians while the herd is on display at the Beverly Hills Garden Park.
Why: Our Elephant Guardians are an instrumental part to The Great Elephant Migration exhibition. While on display, the main question passerbys ask is, "Why elephants?" Our volunteers have been instrumental in not just spreading the ethos of this project, but ensuring visitors to the exhibit leave feeling excited about human wildlife coexistence, and the impact of philanthropic art. Without your support, visitors would perceive only the herd, and not the extraordinary work that each sculpture is doing for global conservation NGOs, Indigenous communities, and Asian elephants alike.
Who: The Great Elephant Migration is a global fundraising endeavor that aims to amplify indigenous knowledge and inspire the human race to share space with wildlife through storytelling.
What to Expect:
- This volunteer position consists of immersing yourself in our herd of life-sized elephant sculptures, answering visitor questions about the project, and keeping a watchful eye over the elephants themselves.
- You will be provided with a informative lanyard as well as a high visibility green vest that says "Elephant Guardian."
- Upon signing up for a volunteer shift, you will be sent our Elephant Guardian volunteer packet that will contain information on expectations and requirments, as well as more site specific information like parking, etc.
- A virtual training will also be offered and recorded for any volunteers who are not able to attend.
- Elephant Guardians will get 20% off shopping The Great Elephant Migration capsule collection which features sustainablly made merchandise.
What's Required:
- Daily volunteer shifts will be offered at the Beverly Hills Garden Park from 9am-12pm, 12pm-3pm & 3pm-6pm. Our team is very flexible, and if you're only able to volunteer for 1-2 hours that is fine as well.
- No prior experience is necessary to volunteer as an Elephant Guardian, just lots of enthusiasm!
