FAVE Family Volunteering: August/ Sept 2025
FAVE Family Volunteering--August 2025 Event: Come out and support Warner Elementary School with a fresh coat of paint, PLUS put together teacher appreciation gifts!
*NOTE: THIS VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL SAT, SEPT. 27th
Why: Students deserve a bright, clean and inviting outdoor space so we will be creating a rainbow wall on the side of the playground. Also, we will express to teachers that they are valued both in their school workplace and in the community by gifting them kits to kick off an inspiring school year!
Who: Our nonprofit partner, LAUSD school Warner Elementary, is shaping our youth with their awesome staff. Our community and our schools are a valuable community resource and volunteers can help with small projects that really make a difference.
What to Expect:

Volunteer Families will help to prep and paint a series of outdoor panels in the playground area in bright, inviting colors.

Volunteers will also prepare teacher appreciation kits to be placed in classrooms.

All volunteer activities will take place outside.

Some of the activities will take place in a shaded, seated area.

This is a FAVE family volunteer event. F.A.V.E. stands for Families Active in Volunteer Enrichment! This is a program designed for all types of families. If you have younger children or even high school students in your household, we always have ways to engage even our youngest volunteers while still making the volunteer experience meaningful for older children, teenagers, and adults. Each month F.A.V.E. will volunteer to help a non-profit partner tackling important issues in Los Angeles. Check out our fave page at www.laworks.com/fave
What's Required:

This event is designed for families and youth of all ages. Youth under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. A waiver must be signed at the event for all youth under 18 to participate in volunteer activities.

Volunteers must wear old clothing and closed-toe shoes as we are working with paint.

Please bring a refillable water bottle and a hat to protect from the sun.

If your youth volunteer does not have their own L.A. Works account, please email shayn@laworks.com to have a youth added to an existing adult account as a guest volunteer.

A positive attitude and a willingness to have fun working together with other family volunteers is a must.
