Christys Foundation Food Relief Program
Help fight hunger with Christy's Foundation Food Relief Program, together we can make this holiday season brighter for families across the San Fernando Valley. ❤️
Why: As the holidays approach, Christy’s Foundation Food Relief Program is in need of dedicated volunteers to help us serve hundreds of families each week. Our food bank distributes thousands of pounds of nutritious groceries to local families in need — and we couldn’t do it without the help of our amazing volunteers!
Who: At Christys Foundation, our mission is to alleviate food insecurity and support families in need within our community. We understand that many individuals and families face challenges in accessing nutritious meals on a regular basis, and our food relief program aims to provide essential support during these difficult times.
What to Expect: Volunteers at Christy’s Foundation Food Relief Program will assist with sorting, organizing, and distributing groceries to families in need. Tasks may include:- Unloading food deliveries, packing produce and pantry boxes
- Greeting families
- Helping maintain a clean and welcoming environment
- Volunteers should be prepared for light lifting and standing during the shift.
- All volunteers will receive refreshments, community service credit (if applicable), and a Christy’s Foundation volunteer t-shirt as a thank-you for their service.
- Volunteers should be at least 16 years old (or accompanied by an adult if younger) and able to stand for extended periods or lift up to 20 pounds.
- Comfortable, closed-toe shoes and casual clothing are required, as this is a hands-on environment.
- Volunteers are encouraged to arrive 15 minutes early for check-in and a brief orientation.
- No special skills or prior experience are needed—just a positive attitude, teamwork, and a desire to help families in need.
- Safety and food-handling protocols will be reviewed upon arrival.
