Community Thanksgiving Dinner Volunteer Sign Up | St. Paul's Commons
Join Seeds of Hope this Thanksgiving Season!
Why: Thanksgiving is the a busy time at Seeds of Hope, help feed our community with intention! Through nutrition education, practical, hands-on cooking instruction, food distribution, and garden building, Seeds of Hope works to cultivate a culture of wellness in the Diocese of Los Angeles.
Who: Seeds of Hope is a ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles which seeks to Cultivate Wellness in our community. We provide garden-based nutrition education and practical cooking instruction to help our friends and neighbors live healthier. We also work with congregations, communities, and schools to transform unused land in to productive, lovely gardens and orchards to provide fresh and nutritious food in areas of need across the six-county diocese.
What to Expect:
- Monday, Nov 24, 6:00 - 8:00 pm | Chopping vegetables & bread in the catering kitchen.
- Tuesday, Nov. 25, 6:00 - 8:00 pm | Chopping vegetables in the catering kitchen.
- Wednesday, Nov. 26, 6:00 - 8:00 pm | Set up of Great Hall and decoration of serving tables; finish chopping, assemble food in trays & refrigerate, receive turkeys & begin to de-bone and shred.
- Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27, 7:00 - 9:00 am | Final food prep; finish chopping, de-bone and shred turkeys, mash potatoes, boil green beans.
- Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27, 8:30 - 10:30 am | Final food prep; finish chopping, de-bone and shred turkeys, mash potatoes, boil green beans.
- Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27, 10:30 am - 12:30 pm | Prep and serve food during our Thanksgiving Meal. Buss tables and interact with guests.
- Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27, 12:00 - 2:00 pm | Serve food during our Thanksgiving Meal. Buss tables and interact with guests.
- Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27, 1:30 - 3:30 pm | Serve food during our Thanksgiving Meal. Buss tables during the event and help clean up afterward.
