TEND THE LAND AT TUJUNGA CANYON - WORLD SOIL WEEK

Join a week of events (Dec 3rd - Dec 7th) celebrating World Soil Day — honouring the living ground that connects all our hands-on work in urban greening, wildfire resilience, and food waste reduction. Tend the Land at Tujunga Canyon - World Soil Day is hosted in partnership with California Climate Action Corps, a program of California Volunteers, Office of the Governor.
Why: Healthy soil helps to cool neighborhoods, capture carbon, and make Los Angeles more resilient to drought, heat, and fire. By raising the awareness of World Soil Day, we hope to inspire Angelenos to see soil as a living system that connects the food we eat, the air we breathe, and the future we share. Every small action — planting, composting, or simply learning — adds up to a greener, more climate-ready city.
Who: Sunland-Tujunga Forward (ST4) has a vision to breathe new life into the Sunland-Tujunga through collaborative action that centers equity, inclusion, and transformative relationships, inspired by the needs of our environment and all its diverse inhabitants.
