Heart of Los Angeles: Scholarship Mentor Program 2026

Support students with their college application while providing essential youth mentorship!

Why: As a Scholarship Mentor, you will play a direct role in expanding college access for HOLA seniors by helping students overcome one of the biggest barriers to higher education—affording it. By sharing your time, guidance, and encouragement, you empower young people to tell their stories with confidence, unlock critical financial resources, and take meaningful steps toward their college and career goals.

Who: Our nonprofit partner, Heart of Los Angeles helps young people overcome barriers through exceptional, free, integrated programs and personalized guidance in a trusted, nurturing environment.

• Volunteers will work directly with HOLA seniors during weekly scholarship application sessions, supporting students with brainstorming, writing, and refining essays, completing applications, and offering college and career guidance.
• Mentors can expect a collaborative, supportive environment, in-person sessions with limited hybrid flexibility, and all necessary guidance and materials provided by HOLA to ensure a meaningful and impactful experience.

• Background Check is Required.
• Mandated Reporter Training
