Volunteer with A Place Called Home to pack groceries and hygiene essentials for families in need!

Why: On a weekly basis, A Place Called Home's Family Resource Depot, or "FRD" initiative provides fresh produce and other personal necessities for 100 families within our community who are experiencing food insecurity or financial hardship – that means sorting and packing fruit, vegetables and shelf-stable foods to fill 100-200 grocery bags every week. APCH is able to carry out this project thanks to the ongoing genersoity and support of volunteers. Without volunteers, we would not be able to provide this essential support for APCH families.

Who: At A Place Called Home, our mission is to inspire, encourage, and support the young people in South Los Angeles to achieve social, emotional, and economic success.

• Volunteers sort and pack fresh produce and dry/canned food to create 100-200 grocery bags for families from the APCH community.
• The APCH team guides volunteers throughout the project. (APCH later distributes the completed grocery bags to APCH families the evening after the packing project.)
• This is an active project that may include light-heavy lifting, bending and extended periods of standing. Please let the APCH team know if there is anything we can do to make the project more comfortable for you.

• Volunteers must be 10 years or older; volunteers younger than 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian/chaperone
• All volunteers must complete a volunteer waiver (provided to volunteers upon confirmation for this project) prior to volunteering at APCH
• Participation in this project will not be finalized until the APCH Volunteer team responds to your form submission by contacting you directly to confirm project details. Thank you!
