Manual Arts Garden Clean Up
Join us in the Manual Arts High School garden for a morning filled with community and rewarding garden work!
Why: Volunteers power Chicas Verdes’ work across Los Angeles schools! At Manual Arts High School, the garden is not only a community space but also a learning hub where students can grow their own food, gain leadership skills, and help cultivate a more equitable, green future.
Who: Chicas Verdes is dedicated to empowering young people to recognize their connection to nature, their communities, and themselves. Through hands-on gardening, environmental education, and community action, they help youth grow as leaders while cultivating green spaces that nourish both body and spirit.
What to Expect:- Maintaining the garden beds with compost and soil
- Compost turning
- Weeding and watering already established plants
- Harvesting fruits, vegetables, and herbs
- Please bring a water bottle and wear sun protection
- Wear comfortable clothes and closed- toed shoes you don’t mind moving around in and getting dirty
- No gardening experience or tools needed — just a willingness to learn and work hard!
