EARTH DAY 2026 : TUJUNGA CANYON RENEWAL - CLEAN, CLEAR & REWILD
Celebrate Earth Day 2026 by joining us at Tujunga Canyon! You will leave a tangible 'before and after' impact and a canyon which is ready for the Summer!
Why: Tujunga Canyon is heading into the hottest, driest months - when wildfire risk, erosion, and invasive regrowth can surge. EARTH DAY is our moment to show up early, remove the invasive plants that outcompete natives and add “fine fuels,” clear debris that stresses the ecosystem, and plant natives that help stabilize soil and restore habitat. This is local climate resilience: preparing the canyon to withstand summer and recover stronger.
Who: Sunland-Tujunga Forward has a vision to breathe new life into Sunland-Tujunga through collaborative action that centers equity, inclusion, and transformative relationships, inspired by the needs of our environment and all its diverse inhabitants.
What to Expect:- A welcoming and purpose-filled day of service with hands-on work
- Rotating through tasks like invasive removal
- Debris cleanup
- Native planting
- Wear layers & closed-toe shoes
- Please consider wearing sun protection
- Bring a reusable water bottle
- Plan for moderate physical activity.
