SCRAPS TO SOIL : A ZERO WASTE DAY WORKSHOP
International Zero Waste Day (March 30) is a United Nations-recognized day that spotlights the global waste crisis - and the shift we urgently need toward smarter consumption, stronger local systems, and a circular economy. It’s not just a “trash problem.” Waste - and in particular, FOOD WASTE, is a climate, health, and community issue. So on Saturday March 28th , we will pause and reflect - and then we'll do what matters most: learn, share practical tools, and take action we can actually sustain.
Why: Composting is one of the simplest, most empowering zero-waste habits—because it turns “waste” into a resource. This event helps community members : Understand what zero food waste really means (and why it matters) Learn how composting reduces what goes to landfill and supports healthier soils Build confidence with the basics—so composting feels doable, not intimidating Leave with clear next steps to reduce waste at home.
