Celebrate Spring Equinox and Support a Local Food Hub
Celebrate the Spring Equinox and support our local food hub by joining us for a hands-on volunteer day at the Garden of Hope. Help plant new fruit trees, invasive species control, spring cleaning, and take part in spring garden care and restoration.
Why: The Garden of Hope is volunteer-driven and relies on both internal and community volunteers to ensure its long-term sustainability. Together, volunteers help maintain the garden’s vitality, support the distribution of harvests throughout the community, and preserve a welcoming space for healing, learning, and recreation.
Who: Garden of Hope provides an educational space that provides nutritious foods, recreational gardening, and garden/wellness workshops for City of Hope patients, employees, visitors, and greater community.
- Transplanting of Fruit Trees
- Invasive Species Removal
- Path way Cleaning
- Harvesting
- Watering
- No green thumb is required and all experience levels are welcome to participate.
- Volunteers must be at least 18 years old to volunteer.
- For a more comfortable volunteer experience, volunteers are required to bring the following:
- Closed pointed shoes
- Breathable attire suitable for garden work
- Water Bottle & light snack
- Sun protection (hat/sunblock)
- Garden gloves will be provided, but volunteers are welcomed to bring their own.
