Event Set Up: Restore, Repair, Renew Retreat
Would you like to meet new people and support survivors of the Eaton fire? Join us on Monday, March 23rd from 3:00pm - 5:00pm at the LA Arboretum to help set up for the Restore, Repair, Renew Retreat.
Why: By participating in this opportunity, volunteers will help sculpt a space that is functional, hospitable, and comforting for those attending the Restore, Repair, Rewnew Retreat. The goal of the retreat is to create a beautiful, healing space for those impacted by the Eaton Fire to find community, wellness, and restoration. By volunteering with us on Monday, March 23rd, you'll be supporting the 160 survivors of the Eaton Fire attending the retreat.
Who: Pasadena Village is a community of older adults from the greater Pasadena area who have joined together to help each other as we navigate the challenges and opportunities of aging. We believe we can have a better experience of aging when we know we can rely on each other for support, for resources and for friendship.
What to Expect: The Retreat itself takes place on the next day on Tuesday the 24th, but we'll need plenty of help getting the space prepared on the day prior.- Unloading supplies from vehicles
- Organizing supplies
- Setting out table centerpieces
- Setting up tables and chairs
- We ask that volunteers be available from 3:00pm - 5:00pm, however if you're only available for a portion of the time that's fine as well, just please notify the volunteer coordinator when he contacts you.
- Tasks are more on the physical side and may require the ability to stand and walk for two hours at a time along with lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 20lbs.
- Where comfortable clothing and shoes that are easy to move about in.
- We'll be inside for most of the time, but we recommend bringing a refillable water bottle if you have one.
