Finn Community Garden: Clean-Up & Mother’s Day Potluck
Join us for a community garden clean up on Mother’s Day weekend. Dig and dish out at the potluck with locals of the Sunland-Tujunga area.
Why: Contribute to maintaining a garden in an urban area that nurtures the residents and organizations of Sunland-Tujunga area at Howard Finn Community Garden. Help support a vital green spaces that offers fresh produce, community building, and cultural expression.
Who: Los Angeles Community Garden Council helps people grow fresh, organic food in their neighborhood! Los Angeles Community Garden Council manages 27 community gardens and offers advice and workshops to 118 community gardens in Los Angeles County.
What to Expect:- Clean up.
- Weeding.
- All around garden maintenance that will get your hands dirty.
- We will provide tools, snacks and water.
- A potluck will follow, you’re welcome to participate and bring something to share together!
- Volunteers will help us with maintenance and restoration projects for about 2.5 hours.
- Physical demands: Ability to be in the sun and perform light physical activity for several hours.
- Dress code: We recommend that volunteers wear comfortable outdoor/garden-appropriate clothing that can get dirty and closed toed shoes.
- Safety protocols: All Volunteers will receive safety training and garden tools (ex. gloves, hand-tools, etc.) to complete projects.
- Please bring a filled water bottle and sun protection (sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, etc).
- A positive attitude and readiness to work outdoors.
