LA CLIMATE WEEK PRESENTS : NEXT GEN POLICY SUMMIT
What does LA look like in 2050 if we get this right? That’s not a rhetorical question. On April 9, high school and college students will spend the day answering it — not in a classroom, not in a simulation, but in the room where it actually counts, alongside the civic leaders and elected officials who can help make it real. The NextGen Climate Policy Summit is a full day of imagination and action. Why: Students will dig into the LA County Youth Climate Commission’s priorities report, work alongside peers and policymakers, and draft 30 climate policies from the ground up — then start building the campaigns to advance them. By 4:00 p.m., a new generation of climate designers will have helped chart a course for Los Angeles’s future. Because designing our climate future isn’t something that happens to young people. It happens with them.
Who: LA Climate Week envisions a Los Angeles region where climate action is visible, culturally embedded, and shaped by the people who live here—where neighbors, institutions, and industries see themselves as part of building a just, regenerative, and hopeful climate future. By highlighting local solutions, fostering cross-sector relationships, and grounding climate in everyday life, we make participation more accessible and strengthen collective momentum toward a resilient future. Presented in partnership with the LA County Youth Climate Commission, Sierra Club, Sierra Student Coalition, and Plant Based Treaty. Sponsored by The Ebell of Los Angeles
