Granada Hills Salad Bowl Garden Club - Open Garden & Volunteer Hours 2026
Join the Granada Hills Salad Bowl Garden Club for a day of rewarding gardening volunteering hours!
Why: In 2024 we started a new communal area to host volunteers, workshops and events. With your efforts, we hope these new spaces will bring a new wave of gardeners to learn and share their knowledge with each other. Two years later, we now have 4 communal plots and a new gathering area with picnic tables
Who: Granada Hills Salad Bowl Garden Club is non-profit 501(c)(3) based in Granada HIlls. Granada Hills Salad Bowl Garden Club is working to encourage individuals in the community to develop self-sufficiency and healthy living through a community garden and educating them about gardening skills. We are on 1.25 Acres with 139 plots that are approximately 30’ x 10’ or 300 sq ft and we focus on organic vegetable gardening.
What to Expect: During Open Garden & VolunteerHours, come to volunteer in the new communal plot(s) & areas to help with various outdoor tasks such as:- Weeding
- Mulching
- Shoveling
- Repairing
- Amending the soil
- Removing grass
- Harvesting
- Planting
- Seed saving
- Composting
- Tasks vary by month & season
- Volunteers must be 14 years or older. If you are a minor, then adult or guardian supervision is required.
- Outdoor volunteer event, please bring a sun hat, long sleeved top, pants and wear closed toed shoes.
- Tools & gloves will be provided at the event.
- Bring water your own water
- No Dogs allowed.
- Street Parking on Both sides of Rinaldi Street
- We reccomend a 1-2 hour shift commitment and you are welcomed to stay for the full duration of the event
- No Experience needed, all are welcomed.
- Walk-ins Welcomed!
