Echo Park Lake: Kick It In the Park
As part of this effort, the City is piloting a volunteer program at select sites from June 11 to July 19. We’re looking for local volunteers to help greet attendees, provide wayfinding, and support activities — you can sign up for just one shift or more!
Why: By joining, you’ll:
- Bring the spirit of the World Cup to neighborhoods across LA
- Connect with fellow Angelenos who are committed to their communities
- Help the City of LA pilot a ‘Major Events Volunteer Force’ ahead of the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games
- Receive an exclusive ‘Kick It In the Park’ volunteer shirt and swag
What to Expect: Roles will be assigned day-of. Your role may include:
- Greeting attendees and providing a welcoming presence
- Offering wayfinding and information to visitors
- Supporting activities and fan engagement areas
- Surveying participants to understand what they want to see in 2028
- Sharing information about the neighborhood
- Assisting with set-up and breakdown of event spaces
- Volunteers will be provided with Volunteer T-Shirts, Kick It In the Park swag, and light snacks + drinks. For those serving longer shifts over meals, additional food will be provided.
- Physical demands: Ability to be in the sun and perform light physical activity for several hours (standing, walking, etc.).
- Dress code: All volunteers will be given Kick It In the Park Volunteer shirts. We recommend that volunteers wear comfortable outdoor-appropriate clothing.
- Safety protocols: Be sure to bring sun protection (sunscreen, hats, sunglasses). Volunteers will be provided with Kick It In the Park water bottles. All Kick It In the Park events will have local security officers on site. You will also have a Volunteer Staff Lead and Coordinator present, who can help escalate any concerns.
- No prior experience is required — just enthusiasm and a willingness to serve your community! You can sign up for just one shift or multiple throughout the program.
- Volunteers must be 18+ to participate.
