Friday Kitchen Prep for Unhoused Saturday Brunch - DCR
We are looking for dependable volunteers to help prepare vegetables for our Saturday Brunch Program serving unhoused guests at.
This is an eligible Daisy Chain Reaction volunteer opportunity. Volunteers who are 18 years of age or older and who opt in during registration for the promotion running between July 22, 2026 at 7:00 AM PST and August 20, 2026 at 7:00 PM PST may participate in a giveaway for a chance to win two (2) GA tickets to Daisy Chain Fields 2026. Participation in the giveaway is completely optional, and you are welcome to volunteer whether or not you choose to enter. See the Official Rules for complete eligibility requirements and terms.
Why: The work volunteers do behind the scenes directly helps create one of the most comforting and meaningful meals many of our unhoused guests receive all week. A thoughtfully prepared breakfast may seem small, but for many guests it provides not only nourishment, but also dignity, consistency, and a reminder that their community cares about them.
Who: Since 1972, St. Francis Center has provided relief and support to homeless and extremely low-income individuals and families in Los Angeles. Much more than a soup kitchen or a food pantry, we offer a unique range of services to sustain and empower those in need. Welcoming all with joy, dignity and compassion, we dedicate ourselves every day to Serving Hope in our community.
What to Expect: Volunteers will help:- Wash and chop vegetables for Saturday brunch
- Organize kitchen prep areas
- Help with cleanup
- Please bring the volunteer form
- Wear closed toed shoes
