Volunteers Needed for Boyle Heights Community Resource Center (Library)
Show up for the Boyle Heights community by helping at a Community Resource Center operating this week.
Why: The Lineage Logistics warehouse fire in Boyle Heights has affected people's health and access to safe air, water and food. Volunteers can help individuals in need because of the fire to stabilize in a number of ways.
Who: Los Angeles County Office of Emergency Management is hosting Community Resource Centers at the East Los Angeles Library and the Costello Recreation Center in partnership with legal aid, food bank and other organizations.
What to Expect:
- Volunteers will be stationed under tents outdoors in order to distribute items to individuals in need
- Some bilingual volunteers may be able to assist individuals with resources inside, as needed, but distribution is the focus.
What's Required:
- Volunteers who are bilingual Spanish will be a great asset but English speaking volunteers are also appreciated.
- Volunteers who can lift items like packages of water into vehicles, etc.
- Bring your sun protection, water, and snacks. Taking breaks inside the library for a cool down is available, but no food inside the library.
- Wear your L.A. Works Volunteer shirt if you have one.
