Breakfast Club: Coffee, Community & Conservation in Tujunga Canyon
Join us for a morning of coffee, community, and conservation as we help keep Tujunga Canyon thriving—one plant at a time. Every volunteer makes a difference.
Why: Start your Sunday with purpose. Join LA Works and Sunland Tujunga Forward for our monthly Breakfast Club, where good coffee, great conversation, and meaningful environmental action come together. Watering these young plants during the summer months is essential to their survival and helps strengthen the health and resilience of Tujunga Canyon.
Who: We are a group of dedicated Sunland-Tujunga volunteers who work together to transform our community through action, inclusion and civic engagement.
What to Expect:- Meet for coffee and conversation from 8:00 AM
- Learn about the importance of native plants and urban greening
- Water newly established native plants to help them thrive through the summer
- Remove invasive plants if time permits
- Enjoy a relaxed, social atmosphere while making a tangible impact in one of Los Angeles’ most special natural spaces
- Finish by 11:00 AM, before the peak heat of the day
- Wear comfortable clothes suitable for outdoor work that you don’t mind getting dirty.
- Closed-toe shoes are required.
- Bring a reusable water bottle.
- A hat, sunscreen, insect repellant and sunglasses are strongly recommended.
- Gloves and tools will be provided.
- Volunteers should be prepared for light physical activity, including walking on uneven terrain, bending, kneeling, and carrying watering cans or buckets.
