FAVE August 2026 Event: Distribute Backpacks, provide crafts for kids, and help create care kits for single mothers with Create For Rose
Why: Families love to help other families! Come out to Carson, CA to support Created By Rose, a non-profit dedicated to serving single mothers by giving them aid for educational expenses, food, and clothing. Volunteers will create self-care kits for the single mothers and also helping to distribute backpacks and run activities and crafts for children. This back-to-school readiness event is sure to give these families some relief and ensure that each child has everything they need for a successful school year! Pleases come out with your family to support these single mothers and their families and to connect as a community.
Who: Carson, CA-based non-profit Created for Rose believes that strong communities are built through compassion, generosity, and shared purpose. Its mission is to lift up and support families, empower single parents, and ensure that every child has the resources and encouragement they need to thrive.
- Volunteer families will help set up backpack distribution event including craft tables for kids

- This is a FAVE family volunteer event. F.A.V.E. stands for Families Active in Volunteer Enrichment! This is a program designed for all types of families. If you have younger children or even high school students in your household, we always have ways to engage even our youngest volunteers while still making the volunteer experience meaningful for older children, teenagers, and adults. Each month F.A.V.E. will volunteer to help a non-profit partner tackling important issues in Los Angeles. Check out our fave page at www.laworks.com/fave
- This event is designed for families and youth of all ages. Youth under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. A waiver must be signed at the event for all youth under 18 to participate in volunteer activities.
- Volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes.
- Please wear clothing you can craft in. Some materials may stain clothing.
- Please bring a refillable water bottle.
- If your youth volunteer does not have their own L.A. Works account, please email shayn@laworks.com to have a youth added to an existing adult account as a guest volunteer.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to have fun coming together with other family volunteers is a must.
