Beautify the Frank Hotchkin Memorial for 9/11 Day
September 11th is a National Day of Service and Remembrance as we honor those who lost their lives in the attack against our country in 2001 and pay tribute to the thousands of heroes who rose in service. Join L.A. Works at this Day of Service event as we support our local firefighters at the Frank Hotchkin Memorial Training Center.
Why: Together, we will beautify the Frank Hotchkin Memorial Training Center for our Los Angeles emergency service heroes.
- Help restore and shine the station's front fire engine.
- Clean and refresh patios and outdoor gathering spaces.
- Support landscaping and beautification projects, including planting California native plants.
- Build classroom storage carts.
- Ability to lift 15-20 lbs
- Stand for long periods of time
- Comfortable with being outdoors
- ATTIRE: Wear comfortable clothes and close-toed shoes that you can move in and don’t mind getting dirty/paint on them. We also suggest layering clothing for sun protection, a hat, and sunscreen.
