STEAM Kit Assembly with Child Creativity Lab! - DCR
Help us prepare hands-on STEAM education materials for students in our community!
This is an eligible Daisy Chain Reaction volunteer opportunity. Volunteers who are 18 years of age or older and who opt in during registration for the promotion running between July 22, 2026 at 7:00 AM PST and August 20, 2026 at 7:00 PM PST may participate in a giveaway for a chance to win two (2) GA tickets to Daisy Chain Fields 2026. Participation in the giveaway is completely optional, and you are welcome to volunteer whether or not you choose to enter. See the Official Rules for complete eligibility requirements and terms.
Why: Every STEAM kit you help prepare and assemble provides underserved students with hands-on opportunities to explore science, technology, engineering, art, and math. Your time and effort help us get these learning experiences into the hands of students and educators in communities throughout Southern California.
Who: Child Creativity Lab fosters the next generation of critical thinkers, problem solvers, innovators, leaders, and environmental stewards through hands-on creativity-enhancing exploration of STEAM concepts using renewable materials.
What to Expect:- Volunteers support our team by sorting, counting, cutting, and organizing the materials that go into our STEAM Kits.
- Volunteers may also assemble completed STEAM kits by following step-by-step instructions and preparing kits for distribution to classrooms and community partners.
- Sort, count, cut, and organize upcycled materials for STEAM kits.
- Assemble STEAM kits by following provided instructions.
- Check materials for accuracy and quality.
- Package and organize completed kits for distribution.
- Work collaboratively with staff and fellow volunteers.
- Most activities require standing walking and light repetitive tasks.
- Wear comfortable, school-appropriate attire suitable for light hands-on work.
- Closed-toe shoes are required.
- All volunteers must complete an electronic waiver prior to volunteering.
